This study presents the theory of Mathematical Competence, analyzes the components of Mathematical competence associated with the desired performance of students corresponding to the topics in the Math 12 program. A table is proposed to build a multiple-choice question bank with three levels of 5 components of Mathematical competence. On that basis, different types of multiple-choice questions are proposed and illustrated through specific examples. The author also proposes a table describing the levels of competency components of mathematical competence as well as initial examples that can be researched and deployed to build an adaptive multiple-choice question bank to assess mathematical competence.
