In today's context, higher education is facing many challenges and opportunities. To meet increasing social and economic requirements, increasing efficiency in teaching and research activities becomes urgent. This article examines the important role of faculty collaboration across disciplines and methods for promoting this collaboration to increase effectiveness in higher education institutions. Through analyzing models, methods and influencing factors, it is found that collaboration between lecturers by major not only creates a diverse and rich environment but also promotes creativity and enhances expertise. This poses new challenges in managing time and resources, encouraging participation and contribution from members of the educational community. However, to truly increase effectiveness, it is necessary to invest in research and development, build links between research and teaching, as well as promote innovation and the effective application of knowledge and technology. Therefore, promoting cooperation between lecturers by major is an important step in improving the quality of university education and contributing to the sustainable development of society.
