The development of the competence of teachers to meet the requirements of the fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training has a crucial meaning. It determines the success of the educational innovation career. The article presents research results on the current student education competence of 1416 Vietnamese high school teachers. The results show that the teacher’s competence in educating students is quite good. However, the teachers also face difficulties, and some manifestations of the component’s competence are not high. It is necessary to have solutions to support and foster to improve the educational competence of students for teachers. Besides, teachers also need to further promote the role of self-study and self-improvement to gradually enhance their competence and contribute to improving teacher and education quality.
