As higher education in Vietnam increasingly diversifies its university admissions methods, the use of results from various examinations requires a solid scientific foundation to ensure fairness and equivalence in evaluating candidates. The Standardized University Admissions Test for Vietnam (V-SAT) has been introduced as a modern and flexible solution. However, its results need to be aligned with those of the National High School Graduation Examination to provide a reliable basis for universities to incorporate V-SAT scores into their admissions processes. Using statistical methods - particularly the percentile equating method, the study develops a score conversion table between the two exams, enabling the mapping of V-SAT scores into statistically equivalent scores in the National High School Graduation Exam. The findings offer a scientific basis for utilizing V-SAT scores in university admissions, ensuring fairness and comparability with the national exam. In addition, the paper provides recommendations for ensuring that score conversion between examinations are conducted in a scientific, objective, and fair manner.
