Managing students’ learning activities is a conscious process undertaken by management entities to ensure that students achieve standards in knowledge, skills, and a sense of civic responsibility towards the nation. This article analyzes the current state of managing students’ learning activities in the course National Defense and Security Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, based on the components: managing the implementation of objectives, content, forms, methods, assessment of learning outcomes, and the facilities and teaching equipment that support learning activities. The study surveyed 40 administrators and lecturers, along with 527 students at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The survey results indicate that the overall management of students’ learning activities in National Defense and Security Education is carried out quite regularly, with performance at a relatively good level. Analysis of individual management aspects also shows that the activities are conducted fairly regularly, with satisfactory outcomes. The findings provide an important practical basis for proposing recommendations to relevant stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of managing students’ learning activities in National Defense and Security Education at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
