Tóm tắt

Economic education plays a crucial role in developing civic competence and fostering holistic human development in the context of a market economy and global integration. This study aims to establish a theoretical framework for economic education for secondary students through a comprehensive review of research on curricula, knowledge standards, and models of economics, finance, and business education. The synthesis indicates that economic education for secondary students is a prevalent topic in academic research and has been widely implemented across various educational systems. Drawing on these findings, the study proposes a theoretical framework comprising three main components: (1) Content of economic education for secondary students, structured around three key domains - Economics, Finance, and Business; (2) Philosophical foundations and objectives of economic education; and (3) Principles for content organization and curricular integration. This framework serves as a scientific foundation for designing curricula, learning materials, and teaching activities in economic education at the secondary school level. It contributes to orienting the development of students’ economic and financial competencies as well as their entrepreneurial mindset within the current context of competency-based educational reform in Vietnam.
