Phân tích ngữ liệu văn hóa từ góc nhìn kiến tạo luận xã hội và ứng dụng trong dạy học: Trường hợp phim Thằng Bờm

From Vygotsk's perspective on social constructivism regarding learning, stereotypes about high and low-achieving learners can hinder teachers from creating learning opportunities, developing creative and critical thinking, and motivating learners. This paper presents a discourse analysis of a local cultural material using social constructivist perspective to challenge our preexisting perceptions of student learning ability. Data include episodes from phim Thằng Bờm, a folk charater representing stupidity. The social constructivist perspective allows us to contest our prejudices and to see Bờm as a creative, critical, inquisitive student with higher-order thinking ability. The findings can be applied for teacher learning, teacher training, facilitating teacher understanding of students, helping us to create a safer learning environment for both teachers and students, easing our emotional labour.
