Tóm tắt

Internships allow students to apply what they have learned at university in real workplace settings. These experiences often influence how they understand their readiness for future employment. This study looks at how English-majored students perceive their employability readiness through their reflective internship reports. The data were collected from 22 final-year students in a continuing education program at Thu Dau Mot University. Using thematic analysis, the study identified five main aspects of employability readiness: professional competence, professional attitudes, proactive self-development, reflective learning, and the ability to link theory with practice. The findings also point to several gaps between university training and workplace expectations, especially in practical skills, digital literacy, and communication at work. Based on these results, the study suggests that training programs could benefit from more experiential learning activities, structured reflection tasks, and practice-based simulations to better support students’ preparation for the workplace. The study contributes to the employability literature by highlighting how students interpret and evaluate their own professional development through internship experiences.
