Tóm tắt

Emotion regulation skills education is an important component of early childhood education, supporting children’s social-emotional competence and adaptation to school-life situations. This article reviews studies on methods and forms of emotion regulation skills education for preschool children. The study employed a literature review approach based on analysis and synthesis. Relevant documents were retrieved from Google Scholar, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and several Vietnamese educational journals. The findings indicate that the main methods of emotion regulation skills education for preschool children include scaffolding and co-regulation; dialogue, conversation, and emotion coaching; storytelling and the use of visual supports; games, role-play, and situation-based activities; and experiential education. The main forms of implementation include circle time, integrated learning activities, play activities and peer interaction, and daily routine activities. Current studies mainly evaluate the overall effectiveness of social-emotional learning programs, whereas the mechanisms of action, implementation conditions, and relationships between specific methods and forms and the development of emotion regulation skills in preschool children have not yet been sufficiently clarified. This article contributes to systematizing the theoretical and practical foundations for emotion regulation skills education in early childhood education.
