DESIGN, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EXPERIMENTAL EVALUATION
Tóm tắt
Student attendance management at many higher education institutions still relies on manual procedures or fragmented digital tools, creating difficulties in data aggregation, evidence verification, and ensuring transparency in student conduct evaluation. This study designed, implemented, and evaluated a digital evidence-based attendance management system to support student activity management and conduct assessment. The system was developed in response to the limitations of conventional attendance practices, which are prone to errors, time-consuming data processing, and limited evidence verification. The study adopted a design-implementation-evaluation process integrated with a convergent mixed-methods design. The system was piloted across three student activities at Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade from March to May 2026. Data were collected from system logs and a survey of 120 users and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that the system effectively supports activity management, attendance recording, digital evidence storage, participation verification, and data extraction for conduct assessment. All evaluation criteria achieved mean scores ranging from 4.14 to 4.23 on a five-point scale, with functional completeness receiving the highest rating (M = 4.23; 89.2% agreement). These results demonstrate positive user perceptions of the system’s functionality, transparency, and management support, while highlighting its potential to advance the digital transformation of student management through standardized data, digital evidence, and data-driven conduct assessment. Future improvements may focus on security enhancement, attendance verification accuracy, and integration with existing student management systems.
