This study aims to survey and analyze the career motivations of Early Childhood Education students at Dong Thap University, thereby providing a scientific basis for career counseling, admissions, and training at the University. The research was conducted on a sample of 250 Early Childhood Education students currently enrolled in various courses, using a survey questionnaire combined with in-depth interviews. The results indicate that the main motivations for choosing this career are a love for children, a desire to work in education, ease of employment, stable income, family tradition, and guidance from relatives. Additionally, some students choose Early Childhood Education due to factors such as the University's prestige, the quality of training, the benefits provided by Decree 116 (which supports living expenses for teacher training students) the field’s current popularity, suitable admission scores, opportunities for university admission, or alignment with family economic conditions. The study also identifies challenges in maintaining and developing career motivation during training. Based on the findings, the authors propose several solutions to improve the effectiveness of career orientation education, create a positive learning and training environment, and foster sustainable career motivation among Early Childhood Education students at Dong Thap University.
