In the context of the 2018 General Education Program's orientation towards integrated teaching of Natural Sciences and the gradual use of English as the language of instruction, developing a teacher training module based on the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach has become an urgent requirement. This study has developed a bilingual Natural Science teacher competency framework consisting of four components (ICK, ALC, BIP, IAC), and designed the CLIL-NS module comprising four modules using a Backward Design approach combined with the CLIL 4C framework. Experts assessed this module as having high content value (S-CVI/Ave = 0.95). Experimental results show that the module significantly contributes to the development of all four competency components, with a large to very large impact (Cohen’s d = 0,79-1,21), with the most noticeable improvement in integrated bilingual pedagogical competence. The research results confirm the feasibility of integrating Backward Design with the CLIL 4C framework in bilingual Natural Science teacher training, and provide a reference basis for developing similar modules in other teacher training programs. However, further verification of the module's effectiveness is needed through controlled studies, larger sample sizes, and assessment of competency transfer in the context of teaching practice and actual teaching.
