MOTHER GODDESS WORSHIP IN DIGITAL SPACES AND ORIENTATIONS FOR HERITAGE EDUCATION

Digital media has brought Mother Goddess worship from temples and festivals into everyday online life, creating a rich discourse that is nevertheless prone to fragmentation, with many ritual signs detached from their cultural settings. This article aims to identify how online communities conceptualize Mother Goddess worship and to suggest possible applications of the findings to heritage education. Using qualitative research methods and grounded in Cultural Linguistics, this study examines 2,183 public multimodal items collected from Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. The findings identify three dominant content groups and the cultural categories, schemas and metaphors through which online communities discuss sacredness, ritual practice and heritage values. On that basis, the article proposes three directions for heritage education: using cultural categories as references for developing Fine Arts learning materials, selectively transforming digital discourse into Literature reading texts, and building the web “Van Dam Thanh Tich” with heritage maps, curated knowledge, QR-based tasks, moderated sharing and school-tour planning.
