Ý thức công dân của sinh viên sau khi tham gia học phần Giáo dục quốc phòng và an ninh: Khảo sát tại một cơ sở giáo dục đại học ở Việt Nam
Tóm tắt
National Defense and Security Education (NDSE) is a compulsory course in Vietnamese higher education that aims to foster students’ civic awareness. However, empirical evidence describing civic awareness following course completion remains limited. This study examined university students’ self-reported civic awareness after participating in NDSE, explored relationships among its dimensions, and compared differences by gender and year of study. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 684 students at a Vietnamese higher education institution. Data were analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, independent-samples t tests, and one-way ANOVA. Students reported relatively high civic awareness across all dimensions. Civic responsibility received the highest ratings, whereas responsibility toward society and the community was consistently lower. Positive correlations supported the multidimensional nature of civic awareness, while gender- and year-related differences showed only small effect sizes. The findings provide empirical evidence for strengthening experiential and community-oriented learning within NDSE.
