Quy trình giáo dục văn hóa truyền thống cho trẻ mẫu giáo lớn thông qua dự án STEAM
Tóm tắt
In the context of global integration and digital transformation, traditional culture education for preschool children requires approaches tailored to their cognitive characteristics and their desire for exploration and hands-on experience. This study aims to develop a framework for teaching traditional culture to older preschool children (aged 5-6) through STEAM projects. The proposed framework comprises three stages - project initiation, implementation, and conclusion - integrating traditional cultural content with science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The framework is illustrated through the “I Love Hanoi” project, which offers children opportunities to explore familiar cultural elements, engage in experiential activities, generate ideas, and design and create STEAM products. This approach seeks to foster an environment where children actively explore traditional culture while applying STEAM knowledge and skills to complete tasks. Project implementation should emphasize the teacher’s role in facilitating and supporting learning, leverage local cultural resources, and provide opportunities for children to participate in ways suited to their abilities. Assessment should focus on the processes of participation, collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity, as well as the children’s cognitive and emotional responses to traditional cultural values, rather than merely the final product.
