Tóm tắt

Researching students' English speaking difficulties and strategies is to help students' English learning process more effectively, helps them avoid making mistakes when pronouncing, practice phonetics, intonation and body language while speaking. The article explores the difficulties and English speaking strategies of 3rd-year students of the Faculty of Information Technology, Hanoi University of Industry. The results show that psychological problems such as stress, fear of getting stuck, errors and lack of confidence are the main causes of students' difficulties in speaking English, followed by language problems such as insufficient vocabulary and grammar and environmental problems such as lack of context for learning. English conversation. The majority of students tend to use various speaking strategies to overcome their English speaking difficulties and especially focus on language accuracy by repeatedly practicing pitch, pronunciation and intonation. Furthermore, students know how to seize opportunities to practise speaking English through participating in social activities in English and commenting on their peers' opinions in English. Students also use body language such as facial expressions, eye contact, and gestures to communicate better. The survey results are a practical basis for proposing appropriate measures to help students effectively overcome difficulties in speaking English.
