As a result of the introduction of the 2018 General Education Curriculum, teaching has experienced many changes in terms of goals, content, forms and methods as well as testing and evaluation. This is both an opportunity and a challenge for teaching Literature in general as well as teaching each topic in particular. In teaching Literature, using literature discussion circles is an effective way to organize reading activities for students. The article presents the theoretical basis for the literature discussion circle, summarizes the characteristics and learning objectives of the topic “Read, write and introduce a collection of poems, a collection of short stories or a novel” , thereby proposing ways to apply the literary circle in organizing reading a collection of poems, short stories or a novel through suggesting reading roles and implementation procedures. The novelty of the article is reflected in the flexible way of applying the literary discussion circle, aligning with the goals and content of thematic teaching.
