Faced with the need for fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, the integration of STEM education into primary school mathematics teaching is increasingly receiving attention in order to contribute to the formation and development of comprehensive capacity for students. In that trend, primary school teachers need to be equipped with appropriate skills to design and organize STEM-oriented teaching activities, helping students access knowledge associated with practice and interdisciplinary. This study presents a number of core skills that primary school teachers need to develop to teach STEM-oriented mathematics; from there, 5 solutions are proposed to develop STEM teaching skills in mathematics for primary school teachers. The solutions are not only practical but also orient teacher training in an integrated and creative direction, suitable for the requirements of current educational innovation. This is an important basis for improving the quality of the teaching staff, contributing to the successful implementation of STEM education in primary schools.
