Phân tích hồ sơ tiềm ẩn về năng lực giải quyết vấn đề của trẻ mẫu giáo 5-6 tuổi tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh
Tóm tắt
Although there have been many studies on problem-solving competence worldwide, in Vietnam there is still a lack of research using LPA to categorize problem-solving competence in 5-6 year old preschool children. This study aimed to identify problem-solving competence profiles among preschool children aged 5-6 years in Ho Chi Minh City using Latent Profile Analysis (LPA). A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed with a sample of 370 preschool children. Data were collected using the Problem-Solving Skills Scale (PSSS), which includes 10 components of problem-solving competence. The results indicated that a two-profile model provided the best fit, comprising a high-development profile (13.8%) and a moderate-development profile (86.2%). Significant differences were found between the two profiles in 7 of the 10 competence components (p < .05), with the largest effect sizes observed for problem identification (d = 1.05) and outcome prediction (d = 0.94). The proportion of children classified into the high-development profile was significantly higher in public preschools than in private preschools (20.8% vs. 4.4%; χ² = 18.95, p < .001). The study provides empirical evidence for the heterogeneity of problem-solving competence among preschool children and extends the application of Latent Profile Analysis in early childhood education research in Vietnam.
