In the context of the ongoing digital transformation in higher education, developing the digital competence of faculty members is considered a crucial factor in improving the quality of teaching and assessment. This study examines the relationships between individual dimensions of digital competence and the teaching and assessment effectiveness of lecturers at Foreign Trade University. Data were collected through a survey of 200 lecturers, yielding 191 valid responses, and were analyzed using SPSS and SmartPLS 4; the reliability and validity of the measurement model and the proposed relationships were tested using PLS-SEM with Bootstrapping. The findings indicate that digital resource competence and digital professional engagement are positively and significantly associated with assessment effectiveness at the 5% significance level, while digital teaching competence shows a positive association at the 10% significance level. Regarding teaching effectiveness, competence in fostering learners’ digital competence, digital teaching competence, and digital professional engagement show positive and statistically significant relationships at the 5% level. The study provides empirical evidence from Foreign Trade University and offers a basis for developing lecturers’ digital competence according to specific competency dimensions.
