Tóm tắt

English is a compulsory subject for students at the Thai Nguyen University of Information Technology and Communication. To develop comprehensive language proficiency, the teaching and assessment program focuses on all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. One of the assessment tasks requires students to write a story based on three sequentially arranged pictures. However, many students face difficulties with this particular writing task. Therefore, the author employed an applied research method and examined writing instructions from existing literature to establish storytelling writing guidelines for students at the Thai Nguyen University of Information Technology and Communication with specific implementation for these instructional steps: Pre-writing, Drafting, Revising and Editing, Evaluation and Feedback. The research outcomes aim to assist teachers in their teaching and provide students with essential elements for composing stories, ultimately aiming to empower students to write independently.
