Tóm tắt
This paper aims to review some issues of peer pressure among adolescents through several studies in the existing literature. Peer pressure is a form of psychological pressure that is based on an individual’s perceptions, behaviors, and emotions being influenced by a group of peers to cope with the expectations of the group and try not to be isolated. According to local and international research, peer pressure affects adolescents' perceptions, behaviors, and attitudes today. International research has explored the consequences of peer pressure on adolescents, such as risky behaviors, delinquency, or mental health problems. However, in Vietnam, research has not been sufficient on the issue of peer pressure in the school environment. Therefore, this paper provides a theoretical basis, conceptual system, and some practical research results on peer pressure as a premise for developing appropriate prevention programs for adolescent students in Vietnam.
