The view of sustainable development has had a deep root since ancient time and reached a relatively complete development stage in Marxist-Leninist thought. However, at the historical time of the second half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, the problems posed by Marx, Engels, and Lenin were just an idea that could not yet form a scientific concept with definite connotations, history was forced to wait nearly two centuries to form a concrete concept that properly expressed their humanist ideas. The article presents the issue of teaching Marxist-Leninist philosophy in the current trend of promoting the view of sustainable development. In the future, what should education emphasize to ensure the harmony between economic development and environmental protection? Those are the questions studied in this paper.
