Meeting the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program, the Literature Program aims to develop learners' qualities and competences. Accordingly, in teaching Literature in high schools, topics that are built not only create opportunities to help students discover the beauty of literature in particular but also learn about it in action with other art types including the topic “Learning about a work of art adapted from literature” for 12th-grade students. The article proposes some effective teaching methods for specialized Grade 12 topic: “Learning about a work of art adapted from literature.” The lesson focuses on developing students' aesthetic competences through studying a musical work adapted from a poem. Research combining the knowledge of the 2018 general education program in Literature and the 2018 general education program in Music, using the song “Spring Girl” (composed by musician Tu Vu based on the poem of the same name by the poet Nguyen Binh) as an illustration. The study results are expected to help literature teachers organize specialized classes to learn about a work adapted from literature. This “adaptation” phenomenon is becoming increasingly popular in contemporary life.
