Tóm tắt

Narrative skills have a profound impact on children's lives and overall development journey, and are a means to help children express their thoughts, feelings and opinions to the world around them. To choose appropriate and effective content, methods, forms, and measures for educating narrative skills, educators need to clearly understand narrative skills and the process of developing storytelling abilities in children. This study applies the descriptive overview research method, synthesizing data from 27 studies in the world and in Vietnam on narrative skills and the process of developing narrative skills for children from 2 to 10 years old. The findings show a gradual increase in word use, grammatical complexity, question construction and narrative context complexity as children mature - providing a basis for providing measures appropriate educational methods. This study also highlights the importance of addressing the issue of developing narrative skills for preschool children in Vietnam, an area that needs further attention from academics.
