Social media has become an indispensable part of the lives of high school students, particularly in Vietnam, where rapid technological development and cultural integration are increasingly prevalent. This creates a dynamic environment of cultural exchange while raising urgent demands for appropriate cultural education for the younger generation. This article analyzes the current state of cultural education for high school students in Vietnam amidst the strong cultural interplay facilitated by social media, and proposes measures to enhance the effectiveness of cultural education for them. The research findings indicate that social media offers numerous opportunities for learning about diverse cultural values but also poses significant challenges regarding its negative impacts on students' perceptions and behaviors. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen education on social media usage skills, cultural education, and collaboration between schools and families to guide students toward a proper understanding of culture in the online environment.
