Vocational education for adolescents with developmental disorders in Vietnam is still limited, while the need for social integration and employment of this group is increasingly urgent. Social and family awareness of the importance of vocational guidance is still low, causing difficulties in implementing appropriate programs. A survey of 40 teachers and medical staff, 40 parents of adolescents with developmental disorders at the Center for Life Skills Training and Vocational Guidance of Seeds and the Department of Mental Health - E Hospital, Hanoi showed that 81.25% of medical staff, teachers and parents rated vocational education as “necessary” or “very necessary”. Professions such as handmade (93.25%) and data entry (87.5%) are most suitable for adolescents with developmental disorders, helping them improve their life skills and behavior, and become more confident when participating in the labor market. From there, some solutions are proposed to improve the effectiveness of vocational education for adolescents with developmental disorders. The research results emphasize the need for supportive policies, specialized training programs, and business connections to expand employment opportunities for adolescents with developmental disorders, thereby helping them integrate into society and reduce the burden on their families and communities.
