Tóm tắt

This study focuses on analyzing the potential and challenges associated with implementing Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) theory in the context of primary education. RME, with its emphasis on using familiar situations and contexts to teach mathematics, promises to improve students' understanding, engagement, and achievement. However, the study also examines potential barriers such as teachers' pedagogical competencies, subject curricula, and primary mathematics textbook content, especially the need for professional development for teachers to effectively apply RME principles. Through analyzing the potential benefits and practical challenges, this study aims to provide a comprehensive view of integrating RME into primary education, thereby suggesting directions for future research and practice.
