The rapid advancement of digital technology has driven a significant shift from traditional psychological counseling to online counseling (OC), particularly in university settings. OC provides numerous advantages, including flexibility, improved accessibility, and reduced psychological barriers, making it especially suitable for student a population often experiencing academic stress and emotional disturbances. This paper presents the process of developing an online psychological counseling model for students in the context of digital transformation at Hanoi Metropolitan University. Drawing on a synthesis and analysis of prominent international models, the study proposes six foundational principles and introduces a model comprising five core functional domains. The model integrates digital technologies with a learner-centered philosophy, aiming to enhance accessibility, provide timely and sustainable psychological support for students, and contribute to the modernization of school-based mental health services in Vietnam.
