Nhận thức của cha mẹ về rối loạn phổ tự kỉ ở trẻ: Khảo sát tại một số trung tâm can thiệp trẻ tự kỉ ở Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that severely affects children's communication, behavior, and social interaction. Given the increasing rate of children with autism spectrum disorder worldwide and in Vietnam, parents' understanding, attitudes, and behaviors regarding issues related to the causes, symptoms, and interventions will directly affect their children's recovery outcomes. This study assessed the level of awareness of parents of children with autism spectrum disorder about the causes, symptoms, and recovery potential of their children with interventions by surveying 150 parents through a questionnaire. The results showed that many parents still have inadequate awareness of the causes and symptoms of autism spectrum disorder in their children. Parents tend to be more optimistic about the recovery potential in terms of emotions and family attachment, and are cautious when assessing aspects such as cognition, language, and social communication. Inconsistent expectations may affect the level of parental cooperation and involvement in child intervention.
