Tóm tắt

In most accounting courses, the lack of students' attention and engagement in traditional accounting teaching settings can lead to difficulties in understanding accounting knowledge. One solution to this problem is Gamification, a teaching and learning method that can provide a useful technique to increase learners’ participation and motivation. This study was conducted on 118 students and tested with Game Accounting (out of 462 students studying Accounting Principles courses). Questionnaires were employed to measure students' level of motivation. The results show that most students' motivation levels were positive, and they were generally satisfied with using Game Accounting in learning. The gender factor was not statistically significant in explaining the difference in learning motivation, while the main field of study yielded the opposite result. Using Game Accounting did enhance interactivity and student motivation. However, this study has the limitation of small sample size, which should be addressed in future studies with a more extensive survey scale.
