Educating water saving habits for preschool children in general, and 5-6 year old preschool children in particular, plays an important role in forming self-discipline in children, actively performing water saving behaviors, as well as awareness of preventing water wasting practices, thereby contributing to the protection and maintenance of this resource. The article focuses on researching the current situation of educating water saving habits for 5-6 year old children in some preschools in Hanoi city. The results showed that preschool teachers were aware of the necessity of water-saving habits education for preschoolers; however, they still faced some major difficulties such as: infrastructure conditions, coordination between schools and families,… Educational methods and forms are not attractive, mainly focus on verbal measures and have not created many opportunities for children to practice; children's awareness, skills and attitudes about water-saving behaviours is still limited; they do not understand the meaning of water- saving behaviours and do not voluntarily perform this behaviors.
