The article focuses on researching the situation of using functional visual skills of children with low vision at educational institutions for children with low vision in some provinces/cities across the country. Detecting main problems related to 7 groups of visual-functional skills of children with low vision: Recognizing and paying attention to objects; Controlling eye activity - rolling; Eye control - eye scanning; Distinguishing objects; Distinguishing details to identify actions; Distinguishing details in pictures; Recognizing geometry, numbers and letters. The above issues are done through the use of visual functional assessment. Research results show that the functional vision skills of children with low vision are still limited, not yet implemented or can only be done with support. Out of 45 survey samples, only one child was able to perform independently with some skills in each group.
