Learning attitude plays an important role, directly affecting students' achievement. This quasi-experimental study evaluates the change in attitude toward statistics (ATS) when students participate in a course emphasizing the development of statistical reasoning (SR). The results show significant improvement in the experimental class, with Emotional scores increasing from 2.88 to 3.09 (p = 0.015), Cognitive Competence scores increasing from 2.88 to 3.05 (p = 0.007), and overall ATS from 3.00 to 3.14 (p = 0.009). The students highly appreciated the role of real data as it enhanced their interest, understanding, and ability to apply statistics in practice. The control class showed no positive improvement. The study provides scientific evidence on the effectiveness of teaching methods aimed at developing SR, contributing to a positive change in students' ATS, while highlighting the importance of real data in improving teaching quality.
