In the context of globalization today, learning a foreign language has become an essential need for all students, not only for students majoring in languages. When learning any language, learning vocabulary always plays an important role in developing language skills and is the foundation for learners to use the language effectively in communication. For Japanese, due to the complexity of the writing system and different language structures, many students have difficulty in acquiring and memorizing vocabulary. The article analyzes the survey results on the current situation of learning Japanese vocabulary of students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages - Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, thereby proposing some recommendations to help students learn vocabulary more effectively.
