This study aims to examine the current status of managing student counseling and support activities at An Giang University and to propose solutions for improving management effectiveness in the context of higher education reform. The study employed a descriptive–analytical research design, combining document analysis with a questionnaire survey of 753 participants, including 96 administrators and staff members, 149 lecturers serving as academic advisors, and 508 full-time undergraduate students. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and standard deviations. The findings indicate that stakeholders highly recognized the importance of student counseling and support activities. However, several limitations were identified, particularly in the use of student feedback for planning, interdepartmental coordination, psychological support services, online counseling, and evaluation and continuous quality improvement processes. Based on these findings, the study proposes five groups of management solutions: enhancing staff competencies; strengthening data-driven planning; improving coordination mechanisms; expanding the application of digital technologies; and promoting evaluation and continuous quality improvement. The findings provide practical evidence for improving the management of student counseling and support activities in higher education through an evidence-based quality management approach.
