Một số khó khăn khi học học phần “Viết tiếng Anh” đối với sinh viên không chuyên tại Trường Đại học Lao động - Xã hội
Tóm tắt
Writing skill is one of the important language skills taught in the context of learning English as a foreign language (EFL) at Vietnamese universities. It is widely stated in the extant literature that writing is the most difficult of the four language skills for many students. At the University of Labor and Social Affairs, students’ English writing performance seems to be inferior to those of other skills. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify students’ difficulties in learning English writing skills, and at the same time offer some solutions to help students improve their skills. Through the use of document analysis and interview methods, the study shows that most students had difficulties in language use, vocabulary, composition structure and less difficulty in content. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers develop feedback forms that are systematized and clarify the meaning of each feedback to help students improve their English writing skills.
