Social-emotional education for children is one of the contents in the educational goals of many countries around the world and in Vietnam. The best education for children’s social-emotional development needs to be conducted in both the child’s school and family. We used the main research method which is the survey method. The study surveyed 502 parents with children of preschool age, in 7 provinces in the North of Vietnam. Research results show that 81.7% of parents participating in the survey performed well on social-emotional education for preschool children at home according to the content in the preschool education program. Families used many different methods to educate their children, with parents highly appreciating the school’s support. Besides the advantages, parents also encounter some difficulties in the process of educating their children. Therefore, they urgently need appropriate and timely support measures from schools and communities to help them effectively educate their children’s social and emotional well-being.
