Research on creativity and developing creative abilities for preschool children has attracted the attention of many authors both abroad and in Vietnam. Developing children's creativity at an early age is one of the important tasks of preschool education today. The article presents the results of research on the current situation of developing creativity for 5-6-year-old preschoolers and the creativity level of sixty 5-6-year-old children at some kindergartens in Dong Anh district, Hanoi city, through loose parts playing. The main research methods are experiment, observation of children, questionnaire and teacher interview, and case study. The research results show that despite the correct awareness of the effects of loose parts play on the development of children's creativity, teachers still face some difficulties in actively and regularly letting children play more. The level of creativity of children studied is not high; children are still limited in terms of initiative and flexibility in the process of playing. This fact needs to change in the direction that children's educational institutions should enhance the development of children's creativity through regular participation in games and activities that are effective for the development of children's creativity.
