Tóm tắt

Self-study is one of the important competencies of high school students; however, their self-study competency is currently low. There are a number of reasons such as: students do not have “self-study motivation and purpose”; the self-study of high school students lacks autonomy, depends on the classroom content and attaches to the tasks transferred by the teacher; the self-assessment and proposal of measures and adjustment of self-study process of high school students are not good. The paper proposes a theoretical framework for self-study competency to serve as a basis to equip high school teachers to develop self-study competency for high school students. The development of students' self-study competency is still unclear in the context of the reform of the general education curriculum. To assess students’ self-study competency, it is necessary to collect information related to the performance of students' tasks, analyze the collected information and give assessment tools.
