Supporting 5-6 year old children to be ready to adapt to learning activities in grade 1 is an important part of preparing children to be ready for grade 1 and has been implemented in kindergartens. This article studies the readiness to adapt of 5-6 year old children at 19-5 City Kindergarten and Quang Trung Kindergarten in Thai Nguyen city, thereby proposing measures to support 5- 6 year old children to adapt to learning activities in grade 1. The survey results on the readiness to adapt of 5-6 year old children to learning activities in grade 1 were assessed on three aspects: cognition, emotion and behavior. The research results show that the majority of children are able to adapt to learning activities in grade 1; however, the ability to adapt among different children is different. Teachers have also actively carried out a number of activities to support 5-6 year old children to be ready to adapt to learning activities in grade 1 with many different contents, methods and forms.
