In order to promote the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of general education in the spirit of Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW, the Ministry of Education and Training has directed secondary schools to guide students on science and technology research and creativity. The article examines the current situation of implementing activities to guide students on scientific research at high schools in Tuyen Quang province. The research results show that administrators and teachers had the adequate awareness of the role of activities to guide students on scientific and technical research; had a certain understanding of the scientific research process; schools actively implemented and had various solutions to support and promote activities to guide students in scientific research under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training; teachers initially had skills to guide students in scientific research; Most of the students were interested and had quite positive attitude, initiative and interest in participating in scientific and technical research and creativity activities. However, it is necessary to organize training; increase investment in facilities and equipment for practical experiments; increase the mobilization of resources outside the school and introduce policies to encourage teachers to participate in guiding students to make this activity more effective.
