Successful implementation of education for sustainable development requires not only individual actions at the level of educational activities in the classroom or school curriculum, but also the collective efforts of all members both inside and outside the in all areas of the school. This article aims to build the theoretical basis of whole school approach to education for sustainable development. Through literature review of international studies, the article highlights the origin, history, models and factors affecting to whole school approach to education for sustainable development.
