The transition from preschool to primary school is critical for children, including children with autism spectrum disorders. However, the outbreak of Covid-19 in Vietnam has caused a dramatic impact on this practice. This study aims to find out the current situation of coordination between families and schools when preparing for the transition from kindergarten to primary school for children with autism spectrum disorder during the Covid-19 period in 04 provinces/cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Bac Giang and Da Nang. The research results have identified four issues that currently require attention: (1) Advantages and disadvantages of families and schools; (2) Forms of cooperation between family and school; (3) The effectiveness of family-school partnership; (4) The expectations of parents and teachers to enhance effective mutual coordination during the transition from preschool to primary school of children with autism spectrum disorder during the Covid-19 period.
