The number of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is significantly increasing all over the world as well as in Vietnam In Vietnam, there have been many studies on early detection, early intervention and education for children with ASD in the past of 20 years, however, only few have been conducted on the national level with systematic implementation from detection to early intervention then to general education, especially family and community-based research. This paper presents the results of appling the model of early detection, early intervention and education for children with ASD with support of family and community with 02 specific cases in Ha Giang province. It is revealed that the participation of parents/carers; medical staff in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder at home is critically important. Plus, the most effective childcare and education can only be obtained with the support of parents and community. Yet, it is essential to maintain coordination and mutual support between the parties to guarantee the effectiveness of the new model.
