Tóm tắt

Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) is a teaching and learning theory in mathematics education first introduced and developed by the Freudenthal Institute in the Netherlands. RME theory emphasizes the view that mathematics is a human activity. Therefore, in teaching Mathematics, it is necessary to provide students with “guided” opportunities to “reinvent” mathematics by doing mathematics. This study proposes a process for teaching the Pythagorean theorem according to RME theory including 5 steps: raising practical problems, discovering the Pythagorean theorem, formulating the Pythagorean theorem, solving initial practical problems, applying the theorem Pythagoras into practice. At the same time, we present the experimental results of teaching the Pythagorean theorem according to RME theory. Experimental results show that starting from practical problems in real life combined with appropriate learning tasks has helped students actively approach, explore, form the Pythagorean theorem and know how to use the Pythagorean theorem to solve practical problems.
