Tóm tắt

In the context of digital transformation in education, developing digital competence for university lecturers has become an urgent requirement from both theoretical and practical perspectives. This article provides an overview of research trends on the development of digital competence for higher education faculty worldwide and in Vietnam. The findings indicate that digital competence is approached from various perspectives, with the most common being based on international competency frameworks. In addition, this competence is influenced by multiple factors such as organizational support, individual awareness, and intrinsic motivation. The article offers several recommendations for enhancing digital competence among university lecturers in Vietnam. It contributes to clarifying the scientific foundation for guiding the development of digital competence not only to adapt to technological changes but also to improve the quality of digital teaching and promote the sustainable development of higher education.
