In the context of globalization and educational reform, the development and implementation of teacher standards play an important role in improving teacher training and development. In Australia, a system of teacher standards has been established with clear criteria to ensure that teachers not only have professional competence but also meet the requirements for professional ethics, teaching methods, and the ability to adapt to societal changes. Meanwhile, in Vietnam, teacher standards have only recently been applied, and there is a need to continue learning from advanced models around the world. Research on teacher standards in Australia could provide valuable lessons for Vietnam, helping to improve teacher quality and meet the demands of educational reform and international integration. The article presents a study on the process of developing and implementing professional standards for school teachers in Australia, highlighting the challenges and attained achievementsin issuing and implementing these standards. These are valuable lessons that can be applied to the educational context of Vietnam.
