Tích hợp giáo dục vì sự phát triển bền vững trong dạy học chủ đề STEM “Chế tạo mô hình mái nhà xanh” (Toán 7)

Currently, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) plays a guiding role in promoting the integration of economic, social, and environmental aspects into teaching. Integrating ESD into STEM education gives students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to solve practical problems. This study involves an experiment with a group of 37 seventh-grade students to evaluate the effectiveness of integrating ESD into the STEM topic "Building a Green Roof Model" (Mathematics 7). During the teaching of this topic, students applied their knowledge of calculating the area and volume of geometric shapes to design and optimize the model. The results of the self-assessment survey before and after the intervention showed a statistically significant improvement (p < 0.001) in awareness of sustainable development and the three competencies: systems thinking, collaboration, and forecasting. To enhance implementation effectiveness, teachers need to select relevant practical problems, creating opportunities for students to participate in the design, decision-making, and evaluation of solutions. Simultaneously, emphasis should be placed on organizing collaborative activities, discussions, and reflections to help students clearly understand the connections between economic, social, and environmental factors in the problem-solving process.
