Tóm tắt

Currently, mathematical modeling has become a prominent trend in teaching and research in higher education, particularly in the fields of mathematics, natural sciences, engineering, economics and social sciences, etc. The incorporation of mathematical modeling into higher education has greatly contributed to the process of improving the quality of training and developing students' ability to solve practical problems and adapt to the challenges of the 21st century. In this study, we utilized the Biblioshiny software and analyzed 117 publications on mathematical modeling in international higher education in the period 2018-2023 to provide an overview of global research. As a result, some recommendations are proposed to promote Vietnamese researchers’ interest in mathematical modeling in higher education. Mathematical modeling serves not only as a tool for learning Mathematics but also as a bridge between theory and practice, enabling students to approach complex real-world problems from a mathematical perspective and improving the quality of reality-based university training.
